Because the government has not recognized the profession “Equine Osteopathy” yet, an independent body was created in 2011:
The International Register for Equine Osteopathy EDO®, the IREO.
The IREO is an independent foundation, established to ensure the quality of the Equine Osteopathy.
The IREO, monitors the quality and competence development of your Equine Osteopath EDO®.
The IREO is an independent non-profit foundation that registers Equine Osteopaths who meet the requirements according to the Standards Equine Osteopathy EDO®. Only registered Equine Osteopaths are allowed to use the registered trademark ‘Equine Osteopath EDO®‘.
The IREO takes care of the commissions for rules and regulations of complaint, appeals and discipline.
In case of complaint the Equine Osteopath EDO® will at first be judged according to the Standards Equine Osteopathy EDO® and Code of Ethics EDO®
